Inspiration From Everyday Life
When travelling in the car I particularly noticed the gloomy sky and raindrops on the windscreen. I was inspired by this because the chosen song (Let It Go - James Bay) is written in an emotional and upsetting way. The raindrops signify the tears of the world because the artist has lost his "world" (relationship separation). As well as this, the clouds make the natural lighting very dark which is mysterious as well as having a saddening effect on the audience’s emotions if it was to be used. However, the light at the end of the road suggests a possibility of a happy ending but the artist needs to get through a long period of sad emotion initially.
I tried to take a photograph on my phone of the moon, however the camera quality is not good enough; instead of my original expected outcome I got something even better - silhouettes. Silhouettes and outlines of people/props/outlines of figures such as trees can give a lot more depth to an image as they are spooky and misterious because you can't see the full picture. I would love to try and create an image for the digipak where silhouettes are used and therefore have a dark and misterious feeling throughout the digipak which develops as it is opened.
