Locations
Initial Ideas
My group and I had a discussion on locations in lesson where we came up with lots of ideas.
We think that the shoot at the beach could look very effective if it is shot in the perfect location so we had lots of ideas of which beach to set it at and key features that they have.
We decided that there would be lots of different locations to shoot the memories at so that the music video looks as realistic as possible and as if it is within the characters' mind when retrospectively looking back on the memories; therefore they can't all be shot at similar locations.

These are my own notes made in the group discussion©

This beach has both sand and stones so my group and I would have the option of where to shoot the music video

Iconic locations would be good to use so that the audience know where the footage has been shot and they are able to identify with it

There are a lot of dull colours in this photograph, this location on a dull day would add a lot of emotional meaning to the footage shot there

Quiet areas with simple scenery will focus the audiences' attention on the characters

The groynes on the beach look alternative for the creation of a digipak or the magazine advertisement

This area is a large public park with lots of activities and views that could be made to look like multiple locations rather than only one - this would be time saving

When the tide is out there are activities taking place on the beach which could look good in the background of a shot

Urban locations will definitely be used in the music video to show how busy it is while the focus would be on the couples' love for each other

The sun sets to the east of the sea, when it is getting lower it lights up the beach giving natural lighting that would be fantastic for us to use
Locations Used In The Music Video

We would like to use locations that are very basic, this is because the main focus is to be on the couple and their love for each other. Their love will be emphasised and will be evidently strong as they will not need to have any influences by locations to make show their love for each other or to enjoy their time spent together.
The Maidstone bridge is over the River Medway, it is local and easy to access. My group and I would like to set part of the music video here to show a change in the narrative by darkness and neither of the characters being in shot. It would show a time lapse of the car lights in traffic at night.
We would like to be efficient with our time because we are working to a limited time frame. Due to this, we have chosen to use locations such as Mote Park and Penenden Heath which are both local and easily accessible, as well as this they are able to look like multiple loactions. This prevents us from using a lot of time by travelling to multiple locations.
The beach is an option that we could take for a choice of location, however it is not essential. I think it will look good so that all the locations don't look too similar and more evident that it is set over a long period of time. The issue we have with this location is that it is difficult to access.
The last location is a back up location and preferably we would not be having to shoot here. My group and I have considered this because we have a concern that all the shots at Mote Park might look too similar (our aim is for it to look like different places on different days over a long period of time).
