Initial Planning

This shows the initial plan that we came up with for our music video creation in brief steps.
The twelve songs that my group and I narrowed down from. We eventually chose Let It Go by James Bay. I wrote down in order which songs I would be analysing and in which depth so that it was simple for my group to copy.
The picture below shows the ideas my group and I have had for the creation of a music video that cooporates both narative as well as performance whilst still relating to the song choice - Let It Go by James Bay
These are all my own notes made in the group discussion©

I would like the audience to feel emotion and connect with the song as well as the moving image when watching the music video. In order to do this the narrative must be relatable - love is a feeling that everyone has felt in their life, whether it is for family memers or from being in a relationship. Therefore the audience will be able to relate with the happy feeling of creating memories and the nostaligic feeling of looking back on them with your loved person. As well as this everyone is able to understand the feeling of losing someone, whether it is to death or just growing apart from someone, it is another feeling that everyone has experienced and can therfore relate to; this causes the audience to feel very emotional.
The image of a man crying is unusual as the woman is usually seen as the weak and emotional person, due to this being antistereotypical it creates and uneasy feeling in the audiences mind, causing the audience to also feel emotional.
I had a lot of input to this idea, however I think it would be better for the chain of events to happen in reverse order - showing the sad alone man followed by the memories and finally him back together with his wife as a younger version of himself. This is because the initial idea leaves the audience on a negative and emotional note rather than a happy ending which is known that everyone enjoys.
